Share It
“Sharing is not only what we teach children when we hear them argue, saying, “That’s mine!” It’s a whole different economic model out of which to experience Christmas. In a sharing economy we root our activity more in the commons, than in commerce; more in Creation, than the mall. Gifting expresses commonwealth, more than private wealth. Can I invite others into a joint sharing experience of gifts held in the divine commonwealth, sharing simultaneously what is already jointly owned by the public (and God) such as parks, beaches, and preserves, feeling the ravishing generosity of God’s care for all species? Will this feel like deep generosity and love?”
